BARBADOS & GG
After twenty years, we travelled together again—mother, daughter, sisters, brother, and Grandma; GG—a holiday filled with a rare kind of togetherness, shaped by time, distance, and now, by loss.
Barbados welcomed us with warmth and wind, salt on our skin, and light that danced like memory. But this wasn’t just a holiday. It was a farewell, a quiet promise kept.
We brought our Grandma, our GG, our mum’s mum, the matriarch, the heartbeat of the family—back to a place she had loved deeply, though never with us. With one look, she could still a room, soften a storm, bring order to chaos.
Though she’s gone from our days, we carried her with us. In our laughter, in our stories, in the soft moments between the waves. And when the time came, we let her go—scattering her ashes in the turquoise sea, where the sun meets the horizon and the sky bends gently into the water.
This place, once hers in spirit, now holds her in truth. And these photographs hold everything else: joy, grief, healing, and the indescribable beauty of loving someone so much that even goodbye can feel like a blessing.
